A remodeled courtyard garden, with a combination of new and old walls, becomes all rustic Italian with a painted antique finish.
Formerly all white, this livingroom warms up with a rich wall color and faux painted cast concrete fireplace.

Before. Livingroom after: the warmth from the glaze continues with a cream color on the 14' ceiling.
A glowing faux stone finish on the cast concrete fireplace and the signature golden brown glaze on the walls create a wonderful backdrop for a Tuscan decor. Bringing the finish on the fireplace all the way down to the floor anchors it in the room.
Deciding where and how to change colors in an open floor plan presents a challenge. Here the glaze continues into the dining room, including the lower ceiling there. At the stairwell it transitions to a golden paint, continuing down the hall where it opens to the earthy green family room.
The motif over the archway (on both sides) was inspired by the valance fabric in the dining room. It ties together colors and patterns in the dining room and the kitchen/family room area.
Metallic underlayers in the French brush finish glow when the chandelier is on.
A French brush finish adds depth and serenity to this bedroom, as well as coordinating the colors and textures of all the natural materials: seagrass carpet, antique linens, new and antique furniture.
Same finish in afternoon sun coming in through an open door.
These photographs capture the most dramatic effect glazing can achieve: changing colors and glow with the changing day and evening light. Glazes also soften the effect of bold or dramatic colors.

Layered glazes with occasional veining and texture create a stone-like finish to accent the gorgeous marble throughout the bathroom. In this case, bringing the finish onto the ceiling enlarges the room.
A rag finish and strong colors disguise a heavy wall texture in this bathroom and draw attention away from the countertop.
Before During
After: the French brush finish unites colors and textures of the fabrics, furniture and floor tiles. The favored blue in the artwork now becomes the true focal point of the room.
